| Alumni Big Brothers Needed |
|
Brothers:
We are looking for local Sigma Chis to take advantage of a unique opportunity to serve as Alumni Big Brothers for the undergraduates at Zeta Psi.
Zeta Psi has made great strides in campus leadership and in the classroom while increasing alumni involvement. The next step is teaming the undergraduates with Sigma Chi alumni (of any chapter, not just Zeta Psi). We need about 45 brothers to take an active role in the development of the undergraduates. Zeta Psi has already compiled a list of approximately 45 brothers interested in this mentoring program, outlined as follows:
Maintaining Regular Contact: weekly or monthly contact either by phone or in person.
Providing Encouragement, Advice, and Leadership: Support for your little brother’s active participation in the chapter, on campus, and in any professional endeavors (Co-Op or job search).
Participate with the Chapter: Participate in periodic chapter activities, including a big brother group event. We’ll likely dovetail the first event with the upcoming 6th annual Sigma Chi Stag Roast on July 21 at Livingston Lodge in Indian Hill (contact Evan Clinkenbeard for the Stag at 859-653-1499).
Help Set Standards and Goals: Stressing our high standards and taking care of Sigma Chi, the physical building as well as the ideals.
We will attempt to match Big Brother’s profession with Little Brother’s academic major as best as possible. You are more qualified than you think, you just need to assist an undergraduate with regular challenges while providing guidance, support and encouragement. | Downtown Happy Hour Planned for May and June |
|
The Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter is starting a monthly alumni happy hour next Thursday, May 24th at 5:30pm at the Righteous Room downtown at 641 Walnut Street. Our plan is to meet the fourth Thursday of every month at a bar downtown at 5:30pm after work. This monthly happy hour will allow us to catch up with our Sigma Chi brothers downtown close to where many of us work or live.
If you are unable to make the first happy hour on May 24th, make sure to put the next happy hour on your calendar for June 28th(an easy date to remember for any Sigma Chi initiate) at 5:30pm, check back for the exact location will be communicated in a future email. Monday, May 21—Quarterly Alumni Board meeting-- 5:45 at Teller's in Hyde Park. (2710 Erie Ave.) The Alumni Chapter will be sponsoring a cocktail hour from 5:45-6:30 with dinner and meeting to follow. All will be responsible for their own dinner. Please RSVP to kyle.w.snider@gmail.com so we can plan accordingly.

Saturday, July 21--Sixth Annual Summer Sig Sports Stag and Pig Roast--2:30 pm to ???, Livingston Lodge, 9350 Given Road, Indian Hill, OH. This annual gathering of Sigs is an event not to be missed! Plan on attending and catching up with old friends, enjoying some good food, beer, split-the-pot (sold by the Bearcat Cheerleaders), cornhole, and this year's speaker will be Mo Egger of ESPN Radio & 700WLW.

Saturday, July 28--Annual Zeta Psi Golf Outing--1:00 pm at Elks Run Golf Club. Registration Fee includes Greens fees, Cart, Dinner and two beer tickets. Early Bird registration is $75, with those registering after July 6th at $100. All registrations must be received by July 13th.
Hole sponsorships are available at $100 per hole, with the donating business or individual's name prominently displayed. All hole sponsorships must be received by July 6th.
